Shutter Island

Saturday, February 27th, 2010

I don't mean this blog to be movie review blog… but I just can't help myself lately…

If you haven't seen the movie, you might want to see it before you read… just so you can enjoy it better…

I went and watch "Shutter Island" just now… this movie is very deep…. and I am very annoyed at author for writing such a difficult story!!! I don't know what to think… is Teddy insane or not?

I went to the movie not knowing what is the story all about… this movie had a twist that remind me of the film called "Shinning" with Jack Nicholson…

I wanted to believe that Teddy (DiCaprio) was sane marshals that tried to review the secret of shutter island… but the more I think of it, it makes more sense that he was actually insane…

Teddy/Andrew was insane… he will never leave the island because he can never let go of his past… therefore, he will never be cured to leave the island…

The movie was made in such a good way that it keeps me thinking… Anyway, that's the conclusion that I came up with… but I wonder what other people think of it….

Is Teddy sane or insane??????

Shutter Island

Leonardo DiCaprio did a good job on this movie… I would give this movie 4.75 out of 5… Good twist…

What a load of crap!!!!!!!!!!

I would give this movie… 1.5 star out of 5… it was very long hours… and of course my husband was sleeping in the cinema… this time I even wanted to sleep… but, I'm the person who needs to watch it til the end even though how crap it is… because you can never judge unless you watched the whole thing.

Near the beginning part of the movie, the guy said that it gets up to nearly 120 degree here… (down in data center) and you think human can really survive that?!?!?! or there is no computer failure?!?!?! Even boiling water only get to 98, 99 or fairly closed to 100….. Unless I heard it incorrectly….. 120 degree is just not possible to be working or have data center!!!!

And I couldn't understand Russian accent much…. There are sections I couldn't understand a word they were saying….

oh, and when there were only 13~14 min left before the impact hits the ship… and they decided to open the gate for all that people to get in…Do you really think it's possible to do that? I mean even if they were running… I don't think it's possible to fit them in 13 min…

Anyway, this movie was basically a modern version of Noah's arc….

I know this is a movie and it's unrealistic story but, please get the simple facts right!!!

I'm going to watch the New Moon tomorrow and I hope the New moon turn out good…

“Wagaya” Japanese restaurant in Sydney

Saturday, May 24th, 2008

Technology are becoming more and more advanced…

My friends in Sydney took me to this new restaurant called "Wagaya" which means "Our home" in Japanese has no waiter/waitress to take orders…

We have a computer system on the table and you can look through the menu on the screen and add as you go… press add on the screen and your food or drinks will be delivered to your table shortly!!! you can even check how much you have ordered already… Down side of it though… you can't customise your order… (it's not like I do it often but…)

It is good in a way that there will be no human error except you made a mistake yourself… and no frastration of looking for waiter/waitress…

I don't know how to express my feeling well now… as much as I love new technology and stuff… the experienced was just bizarre…

But the food was good So, I would recommend people to go there and experience this new technology and enjoy the good food…

Don't know exactly where but somewhere near China Town…

Richmond

Nice and quiet night with my dear friends.

Richmond is known for Vietnamese restaurants… but it is full of non-oriental asian.

It's really good to see many different cultures and backgroud people enjoy our food.

The bar was really cool…. but I forgot the name…. Strongly recommend!!! and the food seems nice too…. they have special on Tuesday on T-bone steak!! We will be trying that next time I think….
